Correction of bite with the Myobrace system

A trainer is a type of orthodontic structure that is good at correcting minor defects. It is a two-jaw mouthguard. It is put on for a while, establishing the correct position of the jaws and tongue. The design is removable; to correct malocclusion and other weak defects, regular wearing of mouthguards is enough to successfully train the oral muscles.

The convenience of the trainer and its advantage over fixed braces is the ability to wear it only at night while sleeping. Mira clinic dentists recommend using the Myobrace system. What is the Myobrace trainer?

This is a safe development that is suitable even for children. The system fits tightly to the teeth, which is not something to be afraid of. After all, the trainer is made of silicone and nylon, harmless and non-toxic dental materials. The device corrects the teeth and tongue position, expanding the jaw. The polyurethane elastic frame is responsible for correcting the bite without injury, and the soft shell protects the mucous membrane and enamel. Myobrace is available in different sizes - the dentist will select the one that is suitable for the jaw of each patient of any age. Treatment with trainers consists of three stages:

  • elimination of bad habits (soft design);
  • jaw expansion (medium rigidity design);
  • teeth correction (rigid design).

Types of Myobrace trainers

There are 3 types of Myobrace trainers:

  • Starters. There are 2 main models that differ in color: blue and red. In the first case, a flexible, pliable structure is used, in the second, a rigid one. Through the influence of starters, the dental arch expands. Models are used for children from 8 to 12 years old. It is at this age that the initial formation of the bite occurs, which means it is easier to correct any defects.
  • Frame. Used during the period of replacement of milk teeth with molars. They are also allowed for use when the bite has already formed. These trainers are distinguished by the presence of a rigid frame.
  • Frameless. Used as a retainer to prevent relapses after removing the metal locks of braces.
  • Trainers for children, teenagers and adults. Myobrace is prescribed to both children and adults in case of minor deviations from the norm.

Myobrace for children

Children are prescribed Myobrace treatment most often between the ages of 6 and 10 years. The device can also be used at an earlier age (from 3 years). The company produces special mini-sized models for babies.

Trainers are used much more often than braces. When using Myobrace there is no risk of damage to the alveoli of the jaw or the roots of an incorrectly positioned tooth.

Children's trainers perform the following functions:

  • eliminate gaps between teeth;
  • restore normal functioning of the respiratory system;
  • correct the shape of the alveoli, in which the germs of the molars are located;
  • contribute to the alignment of the nasal septum, thanks to which the child learns to breathe correctly;
  • eliminate bad habits: breathing through the mouth, thumb sucking, placing the tongue between the teeth, improper swallowing, speech disorders;
  • contribute to the normal development of the child's jaw.

Stages of treatment

Therapy begins with eliminating bad habits that lead to various dental defects. To complete the full course, you will need at least 3 devices necessary to correct the bite, straighten the teeth, and eliminate abnormalities in the oral cavity.

Treatment begins after diagnosis is established. The older a person is, the more difficult it is to solve problems associated with bite and crooked teeth. If you follow all the orthodontist’s recommendations, you can achieve results within 2 years.

Therapy is carried out in 4 stages:

  • changing habits;
  • formation of dental arches;
  • alignment;
  • retention.

Myobrace for BRACES line in the DENT-HUNTER store

There are three main devices in the line, each of which is designed to achieve specific goals:

  • Myobrace for Braces B1 (incomplete analogue of Myobrace B1 Ling Medium). It is the initial device in the series, therefore it is made of the softest plastic. It's the easiest to get used to. The main goal of the trainer is to form nasal breathing and train muscles and joints. Has minimal impact on teeth;
  • Myobrace for Braces B2. The main device designed to continue the formation of healthy habits and correction of the dental arch. Thanks to the use of the Dynamicore frame in the design, the trainer exerts an average balanced pressure on the teeth. It also helps relieve hyperactivity of the lips and correct the position of the tongue;
  • Myobrace for Braces B3. The final model in the line. It is used to consolidate the result obtained. This is the toughest trainer that has the maximum impact on the dentition, evenly aligning those elements that have not yet had time to take their place during the previous treatment.

Wearing trainers stimulates proper teeth growth and helps get rid of the causes that cause bite problems. But it is very important that the device is original. Counterfeits and replicas not only do not produce the same results, they can be harmful. Our online store offers only original products from Myobrace. Habit correction

To obtain the maximum effect, the patient is taught useful habits:

  • do not use your mouth to breathe;
  • swallow correctly;
  • keep your mouth closed unless you need to talk or eat;
  • position your tongue correctly in your mouth.

Bad habits lead to the formation of malocclusion in childhood and poor development of the lower and upper jaws. By breaking these habits, you can reduce the risk of chewing apparatus defects. As a result, the child’s teeth will begin to grow straight, and braces will not be required in the future.

Using a baby trainer

The use of a children's trainer is especially successful in dental practice. Why?

A narrow jaw is common in children. Teeth crowding is a common problem. The trainer, taking into account the rapid growth of the child’s body, helps to expand its size. This means that there is enough space for all teeth in a row, and there is no gap between the front teeth. In addition, the trainer promotes the correct position of the alveolar processes. This is important for the formation of a good bite, because permanent teeth will then appear here.

The trainer is indicated for use from the age of 4. This time is often marked by the habits of sucking fingers, breathing through the mouth, and remembering the incorrect position of the tongue and lower jaw. These and other points have a negative impact on the formation of the bite in the future, so you should get rid of habits. The easiest way to do this is with a trainer that you wear at night.

Trainers help to form the correct swallowing reflex, the correct position of the maxillary sinuses, and the nasal septum. In childhood, wearing mouthguards is not limited to just the dental effect: the device corrects the teeth and helps the body develop correctly.

For teenagers, trainers are relevant as a means for individual teeth correction, as well as jaw expansion in case of crowded teeth.

Before prescribing trainers, children need to undergo an examination by an ENT specialist. The presence of anatomical defects or defects of the respiratory system will be a contraindication to the use of caps.

Advantages of trainers over braces

Unlike braces, Myobrace not only corrects the bite, but also improves the development of the masticatory apparatus in childhood. The dental device helps solve breathing problems, eliminate bad habits and improve speech.

The main difference from braces is that trainers are focused on eliminating the cause of deviations, and not on providing symptomatic therapy. Myobrace acts comprehensively and stimulates the uniform functioning of the masticatory muscles.

Other differences between the Myobrace system and braces and removable plates are presented in the following table:

Rules for wearing a trainer

Are there any special rules for wearing a trainer? In general, using these mouthguards is as comfortable as possible. The only restrictions are that while wearing it you cannot talk, breathe through your mouth, open your lips, or tense your lips or jaw while swallowing.

You will need to wear the trainer night and day for a couple of hours. It is best to put on your mouthguards at the same time every day. Don't be afraid of unpleasant sensations at first. This may include mild soreness and loose teeth. These symptoms will soon go away. If discomfort occurs, you should consult your doctor.

Treatment begins by wearing the trainer for several minutes a day. Gradually the time increases. You will not need to wear mouthguards overnight, but after some time has passed. In total, it will take from 6 to 12 months to complete the process of correcting existing deficiencies.

Wearing rules

During the period of using trainers, there are a number of factors that can increase the chances of achieving the maximum positive effect:

  • It is necessary to strictly adhere to the treatment regimen.
  • While wearing Myobrace during the day, you should try to avoid talking and breathe only through your nose.
  • Correct installation of the structure is required: the lips must be closed;
  • When swallowing, you should try not to compress your lips and orbicularis oris muscles.

In order to install the system correctly, you must place the device in your mouth with the marker tongue facing up. After this, you need to close your teeth so that the Myobrace is under light pressure. Don't put too much pressure on the structure. Within 7 days after installation of the device, pain may develop out of habit, but after the adaptation period is completed, the discomfort completely disappears.

If the pain is unbearable in the first days, it is recommended to limit the time you wear Myobrace. As you get used to the device, you need to gradually increase the period of its use.

How to care for your trainer

85% of the treatment time, the orthodontic device is in the mouth at night, when the activity of immune cells decreases. For this reason, leukocytes in saliva practically do not suppress the activity of pathogenic microorganisms. Without additional care, bacteria can cause complications.

In order to avoid negative consequences, it is recommended to adhere to the following rules:

  1. Disinfect the structure with antiseptics at least 2 times a week. Antibacterial tablets are used to treat trainers. Disinfection with chlorhexidine, alcohol and potassium permanganate solution is allowed. After treatment, the device is thoroughly washed with water.
  2. Clean Myobrace 1-2 times a day using a soft-bristled toothbrush and low-abrasive toothpaste.
  3. After each use, the trainers are washed with water.

Why combine braces and trainers?

In 80% of cases, malocclusion and dental growth disorders are the consequences of incorrect myofunctional habits. The child may sleep with a finger in his mouth, breathe through his mouth, or swallow incorrectly. All this, albeit not immediately, but rather slowly, but still significantly affects the arrangement of the elements of the dentition.

Installed braces help correct the bite and return all teeth to their natural position. But such a system does not address the cause of the problem. Habits remain, which means the risk remains. Using a trainer helps teach the body to work correctly: position the tongue correctly, swallow, breathe through the nose, etc.

By combining braces and trainers, the patient not only achieves success faster, but also receives a long-lasting effect from the treatment. An additional plus is that braces do not damage the delicate tissues of the mucous membrane at night, when a person is especially vulnerable.
